Winsted man wins lottery

WINSTED — Winsted resident Frank Bonadies won a prize with a state lottery Lucky For Life quick pick ticket on March 26.

According to the state lottery’s official website, Bonadies won the second prize in the Lucky For Life contest. While he could have chosen $25,000 a year for life, Bonadies instead chose to claim a one-time lump sum of $390,000.

The ticket was sold by Darin Barber, owner of the Winsted News and Variety store at 418 Main St. Barber will receive a $2,500 bonus check from the lottery for selling the winning ticket.

“This is a blessing for everyone,” Barber said to The Winsted Journal. “It lets people know that there are good vibes in town.”
