A Place for The Little Ones

The Center on Main has been busy lately.

The Falls Village Children’s Theater’s production of “A Year with Frog and Toad” played to enthusiastic and appreciative houses in late March.

There was a lively open house Saturday, March 11, to introduce Brook Martinez as the Center’s new creative administrator.

Martinez’ vocal group, the Galactic Overtones, performed a tight version of David Bryne’s “Road to Nowhere,” a hit for Talking Heads in 1985 and a showstopper in its Falls Village version.

The Center on Main has some new faces on its board. Board President Adam Sher said that, with the help of grant funds from the Foundation for Community Health, the Center was able to hire Martinez and develop the strategic plan.

Sher said the Center has three immediate goals: to hire the creative administrator, to develop an annual program of events and activities, and to “take care of the building.”

The idea is to make the Center “a place of creative activity and community-oriented performance.”
